What I am Doing....

October 11th, 2007 at 04:23 pm

Here is a small smattering of things we are already doing to cut costs....

For our upcoming baby we are using cloth diapers (AIOs) and wipes, as well as making our own baby food when the time comes. I have already accumulated a large box of baby samples-bottles, wipes, diapers, creams and washes and coupons, as well as two large boxes of used (free or cheap) clothing, toys, books, ect - This stash will grow even more when we know the sex of the baby.

Keeping unused items unplugged- just started this- like cell phone chargers, steros and alarm clocks not in use, ect.

Just got our two boys fall / winter clothing- including coats, snowsuits, jammies ect for $20- ALL - just need to purchase socks for both and undies for our 4 year old. The four year old's itemscan then get boxed up for the two year old to use two seasons from now.

Inexpensive meals- like today's chilly weather favorite- tomato soap and grilled cheese for lunch with sliced carrots and cucumbers- Yummy and dirt cheap for our big family.

Making lots of our Holiday gifts - actually most of our relatives gifts will be made, not bought. Very cost effectiveand will give us some extra money for gifts from Santa for the kids.

I will add more things as I think of them!

I LOVE tomato soup and grilled cheese!

I buy Progresso's plain tomato/basil soup and add ravioli and peas to it.
